Greer State Bank - Oktoberfest

In The News

Greer State Bank is serving as the top sponsor for the upcoming Greer State Bank Greer Station Oktoberfest.  The event is one of the most popular festivals in downtown Greer scheduled for Saturday, October 5.  The festival features German oompah bands, a variety of German foods, a range of German beer and wine, along with local artists who will be displaying their creative pieces all day in downtown Greer.  Hours for the event are 12 noon to 10PM and admission is free.

“Greer State Bank is excited to be part of this important Greater Greer Chamber activity,” states Vic Grout, Chief Banking Officer for Greer State Bank.  “Our goal is to be a vital part of the community, and it is our honor to be associated with this year’s Oktoberfest.  We look forward to joining everyone in this celebration.”

The downtown festival is a unique one-of-a-kind event in the Upstate.  A celebration of German tradition, Oktoberfest brings thousands of visitors to the Greater Greer area.  This year marks the return of Greer State Bank as the event’s top-sponsor after having served in that role in past festivals.

“We are very pleased to have Greer State Bank as our title sponsor,” said Mark Owens, Vice President of the Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce.  “As a local bank that has been providing banking services to the immediate community for nearly 25 years, Greer State Bank is well-known throughout this area and we embrace their enthusiasm for this sponsorship.  They are a great fit for the festival and a wonderful supporter of community-wide events that help make Greer and the surrounding markets successful.”

Festival goers should expect a vast array of German foods and desserts including Bavarian white sausages, leberkaus, knackwurst, bratwursts, fresh baked pretzels, German funnel cakes, kettle korn, spaetzel, chipstix, glazed nuts, German chocolate cake, Black forest cake, and much more.  Foods will be sold anywhere from $1 to $5.  Local artists will display everything from oil paintings, ceramics, photography, woodwork, jewelry and more.
